So after a date out with my dear boyfriend on Sunday, I had another date with my best girlfriend the next day. We planned to watch Ah Boys To Men but I wanted to go and have dinner first which apparently was my first meal of the day! So we met at Bugis and walked off to Arab St to fill our hungry empty stomach with briyani :)
But first, my makeup of the night:
(By webcam)
Okay this picture reminds me of Po, from Kung Fu Panda. Here's another shot by a camera :
It is inspired by Promise Phan, one of the beauty gurus on Youtube that I love! It's from her video, Edgy Punk Rocker Transformation. This is her pic from the makeup video :
Well I think I achieved the look quite well except for my eyebrows. It's too strong and thick which makes the makeup look appear a lil bit too much :( But practice!
Back to the Briyani topic, we went to Singapore Zam Zam Restaurant and ordered 2 Briyani Daging(Meat) and realized there are quite a bunch of people who ordered Murtabak so we decided to order Chicken Murtabak to see if there's anything special about it.
The Briyani and Murtabak :
The Briyani and Murtabak :
The meat is under the Briyani Rice and they comes with 2 different curries. 1 of them is meat curry (I think) and it tasted so damn good, full of flavor and spicy! The other one, I have no idea what is that, but I'm really thinking that's green curry, it tasted as good but not spicy :) THE BRIYANI IS A MUST-TRY! A whole lot of rice and the meat is so tender you don't have to chew much. For the murtabak, I was already so damn full because of the briyani so I just get to eat a little bit of the murtabak. Full of the main ingredient, definitely worth the $6. Try their, I think, signature ais limau or lime drink. We saw a lot of people ordering it, and we now know the reason why! Refreshing, cooling and sweet. A refreshment that can soothe your tongue from the spiciness of the food. Yummeh!
The order was: 2 meat briyani + 1 chicken murtabak + 2 coke + 1 lime drink = $23.50
Affordable, Satisfying and most importantly: FULL! I'll definitely come back here for more :)
To those who wanna try their briyani (they have other indian muslim cuisine as well) :
